“May there dawn for everyone the time of peace and freedom, the time of truth, of justice and of hope”.

Pope John Paul II, radio message during the Ceremony of Veneration, Thanksgiving and Entrustment to the Virgin Mary Theotokos in the Basilica of Saint Mary Major: Insegnamenti di Giovanni Paolo II, IV, 1 (Vatican City, 1981), 1246.

And if contraception became widely accepted, Pope Paul asked:

Who will blame a government which… resorts to the same measures that are regarded as lawful by married people …? Say what?

Spread the gospel, but don’t forget to restrict its use and limit its playback.  That doesn’t sound like it complies with Pope John Paul II reiteration of use of modern media to spread God’s message. [citation pending]

weeds and seeds

Filed under: Mass — Sagacious Himself @ 5:34 pm

The Church herself is a field, within which seeds and weeds, the good and the wicked, grow together, a place where there is room to grow, to be converted and above all to imitate God’s patience. The wicked exist in this world either to be converted or that through them the good may exercise patience.
