how can I build speed boost from a racing video game into a real car?
Wait, no longer. SpeedCaps to the rescue… available now in electric gocarts. FormulaZero, dreamers and engineers, have a winning combination of technology
Not cool enough? OK how about 135 mpg? Save the environment: raise the speed limit to 140 mph!
135 mpg @ 140 mph in a hydrogen + fuel cell powered car
Hydrogen has the potential to become a truly sustainable energy source because it can be produced from renewable sources like biomass, wind and solar power. Fuel cells turn hydrogen into electricity emitting only water. Hydrogen in combination with fuel cells is a serious zero emissions alternative for conventional combustion engines: safe, practical, clean and efficient.

dd-wrt 23 sp2 vs tomato 1.15 — screencaps and whatnot
briefly
tomato has more intuitive QoS controls
tomato has shinier bandwidth graphs
dd-wrt screenshots later
When KAID, VPN, and VoIP are not an issue tomato is the way to go.
I’m days away from donating $20 to dd-wrt to try their ‘special’ QoS edition!

the universe is bizarre and irrational; on the other hand, there is no proof 6 × 9 = 42
Since 6 × 9 = 54, this being the question would imply that the universe is bizarre and irrational; on the other hand, there is no proof that this was the actual question. After all, Arthur Dent comprised only a minuscule fragment of the vast and complex computer matrix that was the Earth, and besides, it was stated that the computer’s run had not finished when it was destroyed. In addition, Arthur and Ford realized that the original ape-like inhabitants of Earth were displaced by the Golgafrinchams, which could account for the irrational nature of the question in Arthur’s mind (as he himself is a descendant of the Golgafrinchans). On discovering the question Arthur Dent remarks: “I always said there was something fundamentally wrong with the universe.”
It was later pointed out that 6 × 9 = 42 if the calculations are performed in base 13, not base 10. Douglas Adams was not aware of this at the time, and has since been quoted as saying that “nobody writes jokes in base 13.” and also “I may be a pretty sad person, but I don’t make jokes in base 13.” (Note, however, that the Scrabble board Arthur used had thirteen squares to a side, whereas an actual Scrabble board has fifteen. Furthermore, Arthur’s board had four Y tiles to actual Scrabble’s two.)

8 bits of humor.. 8,704 if you want to be technical.. sometimes known as a byte.. just not the bit before last which is technically 1088 times larger
8. “I have noticed even people who claim everything is predestined, and that we can do nothing to change it, look before they cross the road.”
7. “Einstein was wrong when he said “God does not play dice”. Consideration of black holes suggests, not only that God does play dice, but that He sometimes confuses us by throwing them where they can’t be seen.”
6. “My goal is simple. It is a complete understanding of the universe, why it is as it is and why it exists at all.”
5. “My expectations were reduced to zero when I was 21. Everything since then has been a bonus.”
4. “To show this diagram properly, I would really need a four dimensional screen. However, because of government cuts, we could manage to provide only a two dimensional screen.”

self replicating fix for the economy
http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/01/22/2143809.htm?site=queensland
A rare new species of plant that eats small rats has been discovered at the tip of Cape York.
Pitcher plants, otherwise known as flesh-eating plants, grow throughout Cape York but now a new, larger species that grows like a vine has been discovered.
The new species has been called “Tenax”.
James Cook University ecologist Charles Clarke and a colleague found the new species at a swamp near the Jardine River, but exactly where is a secret.
“They are quite vulnerable,” he said.
“They are only found in a few small areas and if we broadcast the location then there are people out there who would take advantage of that.
“There’s a lot of interest in pitcher plants from Australia, even from people outside of Australia.
“And while people often associate these things with New Guinea or Borneo or Sumatra, the fact that there’s more species here is actually very exciting.”
Once it begins to eat liberalists we’ll have a self replicating fix for the economy 😉

the other geeky way to get and install the firefox 2 DOM Inspector extension after installing firefox
first version: http://Himself.wordpress.com/2007/11/10/installing-firefox-dom-inspector-without-having-to-custom-install-firefox/
new fun version:
Repackage this debian binary into an XPI to install to firefox 2
(instructions assume Windows XP, but will work for any OS essentially)
download this debian binary: http://packages.ubuntu.com/edgy/web/firefox-dom-inspector
don’t have debian? don’t worry. you’ll need 7zip
open firefox-dom-inspector_2.0.0.11+0nobinonly-0ubuntu0.6.10_all.deb (or whatever is current) in 7zip
or right-click-drag firefox-dom-inspector_2.0.0.11+0nobinonly-0ubuntu0.6.10_all.deb to 7zFM.exe
extract: data.tar.gz
open: data.tar.gz
browse to: .\usr\share\firefox\extensions\
extract the folder: inspector@mozilla.org
(for santiy sake check the RDF)
yup… that’ll do nicely
using your zip capable archive tool zip the newly extracted inspector@mozilla.org folder
(correction: zip contents of the folder)
change the zip extension to xpi
drag the newly created xpi into firefox to install the DOM Inspector extension
or download DOM Inspector for firefox2: inspector@mozilla.org.xpi
http://www.zshare.net/download/66631420154ad3/
or
http://rapidshare.com/files/84948437/DOM-inspector-for-firefox2.xpi.html
.
.
.
for a slightly less complicated unpack the zip in this directory
http://ftp-mozilla.netscape.com/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/latest/contrib/
unpack: inspector@mozilla.orgzip contents to xpi

firefox stop unresponsive script — would be great to autostop after user specified seconds
For those atrociously designed sites that gobble up my power it’d be nice to autostop unresponsive scripts after 3 seconds. If whatever cannot accomplish whatever else in 3 seconds I don’t want whatever it is anyway.
