dead reckoning android GPS

Why is dead reckoning not enabled in ANY android GPS navigation applications??

dead reckoning should at least be a feature in GPS car location applications… for those parking structures or underground parking.

pshaw! lame!

GPS navigation ought not rely entirely on google maps (google navigate)

Also try:

* Waze

* Mapquest

I can NO longer in good conscience recommend prevx [to the computer illiterate] since feckless webroot acquisition

Filed under: CIO,irony, software overview — Sagacious Himself @ 4:46 pm

Since prevx was acquired by webroot they have “acquired” a decrease to zero integrity

http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=285741
http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/webroot-acquires-prevx-106436478.html

Sure the news is a little dated but I wanted to reaffirm a recommendation before issuing it again… which now is not going to happen.

Once upon a time “what should I do to protect my [windows] machine” could have been answered with “buy a prevx license”.  In good conscience did I recommend this single “security product” to most everyone from barely-able-to-turn on computer illiterates to power-users.

No longer.  The bloatware/malware PRODUCERS, webroot, now controls the ship.  Webroot software, like norton, FIRST design priority is license validation at an unacceptably HUGE resource cost.  Webroot code is also fundamentally malicious.

Prevx was trustworthy.  Until demonstrated otherwise prevx as a webroot product is completely untrustworthy.

Recommendation revoked

… sadly as more people “discover” email I need continue re-educate them on BCC usage.. sigh

multidrive sata port multiplier drive enclosures (vs multilane SATA)

feed the [NAS] storage demands of boxee or other uses.. mmm overkill

http://www.pc-pitstop.com/sata_port_multipliers/

Benefits of port multipliers:

Controller and the cabling cost is very low, compared to multilane alternatives when using a large number of drives. The solution occupies only 1 slot in your server, whereas a 12 or 16 port multilane solution would need at least 2 slots. It is the only way to have JBOD mode hot-swapping with more than four drives in a single slot. You can have 5 or 10 bays in a tower enclosure as opposed to 4 or 8 with our other solutions. If necessary, it is possible to convert the connection to USB via our eSATA to USB adapters.

Limitations of port multipliers:

If you have high-bandwidth slots (PCI-X or PCIe), performance will be limited to 300MB/s, unlike multilane enclosures. You will be limited to non-caching controllers and you will not be able to use RAID 6.

If boxee box had bothered to use eSataP ports instead of only [useless] USB then:

… Or interface overkill: with 3.0Gbps eSATA, FireWire 800, iSCSI/AoE and USB3

United Socialist American States of Chairman O , USASCO

It’s a new year under the same old tried and failed regime: socialism.  Hey, simply because it has never worked is no reason not to continue trying it!

Other delightful variations of USSA

USSACO , United Socialist States of America of Chairman O

^ not to be confused with a corporation because obviously they are ALL EVIL

USASCO , United Socialist American States of Chairman O

USSA , United States of Socialist Americans

USSA , United Socialists Scamming Americans

SUAA , Socialists United Against Americans

SUA , Socialists Undermining America

COUA , Chairman O Undermining Americans

COUAS , Chairman O Undermining American States

ASU , American Socialists United

The socialists united in one place are more easily euthanized
